With a heavy heart, we share the news that James passed away peacefully on April 23, 2021.

James Heneghan was one of Canada’s foremost authors of historical fiction for children and young adults. His popular, award-winning books, acclaimed for their realism, adventure, action, and suspense, often tell the stories of teenagers struggling to overcome personal difficulties.

“In James Heneghan’s books, reality bites, and it bites hard,” says one critic. “There are no reluctant readers when it comes to James Heneghan’s books,” says public librarian Stella Johannson.
